Care UK, a leading provider of care homes, faced a unique challenge when working on two care home projects. They sought to implement fire suppression measures while simultaneously installing a sprinkler system within both properties.
This presented the need for a solution that would ensure the safety of residents during this crucial construction phase.
To address Care UK’s specific requirements, EA-RS proposed the deployment of UltraGuard units on the resident side of staircase doors, initially on the first floor.
This strategic placement allowed residents to safely access the second floor while the installation of the sprinkler system proceeded on the first floor.
Collaborating closely with the customer, Surefire reviewed the building plans and determined locations for four UltraGuard units within each property.
The implementation of UltraGuard units proved to be a highly effective solution. As the refurbishment and sprinkler installation
progressed, EA-RS’ engineers revisited the sites to relocate the UltraGuard units as needed. Upon completion of the project, the UltraGuard units were safely decommissioned and stored for potential
future use.
This approach not only met Care UK’s safety requirements but also ensured the efficient progress of their construction efforts.
