1. The Challenge
The client required a self-contained fire detection and fire
suppression system to protect a new power transformer and custom
enclosure, all under a very tight installation programme and budget.
EA-RS competitively tendered and won the project to design, supply,
install, and commission the required system, which was successfully
completed on time and within budget to the full satisfaction of the
client.
2. Our Solution
Despite FirePro already being installed on site, EA-RS and JCA Engineering carried out due diligence to satisfy the best value requirements for the client, which EA-RS provided clear evidence for.
The FirePro product was selected for its proven effectiveness and sustainability, with a 15-year life cycle and clear evidence of successful
installations. The installation process was completed in a matter of days, meeting the demanding programme and client needs. Key factors for selecting the FirePro solution included its speed of installation, availability of materials, technical support, LPCB certification, and support network of accredited fire systems specialists. The solution’s suitability for the project was further enhanced by its sacrificial footprint, 10-year hydrostatic testing, and environmentally sound features.
3. Results
The implemented fire detection and suppression system successfully
protected the new power transformer and custom enclosure, meeting the client’s requirements for safety and reliability. The project was completed efficiently and within budget, with the solution proving to be effective for the specific needs of the Chelsea & Westminster NHS Trust Hospital.
